“At Novugen, our purpose is to bring affordable medicine to the world. As disparities grow across the globe, the mandate is greater than ever to respond.”
BRIEF
Malaysia is not well known as a global pharmaceutical hub. In fact, until Novugen and its sister company Oncogen, there were no manufacturers in the oncology/antineoplastics space in the country. Novugen sort to be a major player in the generics business — and by changing the formulation and/or active ingredient in “difficult to make” drugs, they saw an opportunity to take on the generic pharmaceutical giants like Teva, Mylan, Allergan, Sun Pharma, Fresenius, Endo International, Lupin, Natco and Kalbe Pharma.

RESPONSE
The approach was to create a strong brand whose purpose was to accelerating affordable medicine — “As disparities grow across the globe, the mandate is greater than ever to respond. We’ve assembled a team with years of experience in a vast range of roles across the pharmaceutical industry, all with one goal in mind: making high quality generic medicine more easily accessible and available faster to those in need.”
